The tentative schedule for the 2013 Festival is as follows:

Please be sure to read all the rules and regulations. Also note the following:

The 'Early-Bird' deadline is January 15^th. The final deadline for entries in this division is January 31^st.
All participants must be of the prescribed age by January first of the current year of the Festival.
Students with special needs are welcome to participate in these Festival classes. Teachers/Supervisors are advised to indicate on the entry form if the participant has a special need.
In all classes in which the "Test Piece" is the participant's "Own Choice", the selection chosen must not be a work for which the participant has received a Gold standing at any previous Orillia Kiwanis Music Festival.
Participants are asked to be prepared to announce the title and composer of their "Own Choice" pieces.
Except for the Quick Study and Oratorio classes, and ensembles of two or more, all songs are to be memorized. The adjudicator will deduct five marks if music is used for performance in all other classes.
"Own Choice" pieces may be used in one class only during the Festival.
A chord may be given on the piano at the commencement of any a capella music.
All efforts will be made to provide a "warm-up" room at the Festival location.
Trophies will be awarded at the discretion of the Adjudicator.
The adjudicator may recommend one senior vocal participant at the Associate Level, and one participant at each of the grades 7, 8, 9 and 10 Conservatory levels to represent the Orillia Festival at the Ontario Provincial Music Festival. By federal law, photocopying of music is illegal. Photocopies of copyrighted music will not be accepted by the session secretaries.

Music that has been downloaded from the Internet must indicate that it has been legally downloaded.

Solo Classes
The Test Piece in all of the following classes will be the participant’s “Own Choice” unless otherwise indicated.

**Vocal Solo - Concert Song**
Each participant is to perform an “Own Choice” concert song

**Vocal Solo - Concert Group**
Each participant is to perform “Own Choice” of three contrasting selections from standard concert repertoire. The performance is to take recital format with no pause for adjudication between the three selections. Adjudication will be on stylistic contrast, keys, technique, interpretation and overall stage presence.

**Vocal Solo - Quick Study**
Participants must state voice range on the entry form. The music for each of these classes will be available from the presiding session secretary no sooner than 48 hours before the scheduled time of the class. It is the responsibility of each participant to pick up the music from the designated location of the vocal classes. Memorization is not required but may be considered in the assessment at the adjudicator’s discretion.
