The Orillia Kiwanis Music Festival is grateful to the supporters who have generously donated to help us continue the grant program.

Grants provide encouragement as well as financial support to children and youth in Orillia and the surrounding area.

To be eligible for a grant, applicants 12 years and younger must be entered in at least two classes in the current Festival and applicants 13 years and older must be entered in at least three classes in the current Festival.

All grant applications will be reviewed and assessed by a non-partisan sub-committee and the participants selected to receive grant funding will be chosen in accordance with the adjudicator’s recommendations.

To be considered for a grant, the participant MUST check the appropriate box on the entry form and submit the form to the Festival Registrar by the appropriate entry deadline.

The Festival Executive Committee is pleased to announce that Post Secondary Scholarships will be awarded to participants in the Orillia Kiwanis Music Festival. The aim of these awards is to provide financial support to Festival participants who study music as full-time students at a post-secondary institution.


Eligibility
The applicant must be planning to attend, or currently enrolled in a post secondary institution (university, college, recognized conservatory or school of music) as a full-time music student in the calendar year of the current Music Festival.

The applicant must participate in one or more disciplines of the current year’s Music Festival. The following outlines the minimum number of classes that must be entered according to the participant’s major discipline:

Senior Piano – 3 or more classes
Vocal – 3 or more classes
Strings – 2 or more classes
Brass and Percussion – 2 or more classes
Woodwinds – 2 or more classes

Evaluation Assessment
All applications will be reviewed and assessed by a non-partisan sub-committee and participants selected to receive funding will be chosen in accordance with the adjudicator’s recommendations.

If the successful applicants are entering their first year at a post secondary instituion, proof of acceptance may be required.

Post Secondary Scholarship applicants MUST submit a separate application form and a letter of recommendation to the Festival Registrar by April 1st of the current Festival year.
